GURUGRAM: Taking note of the unauthorised constructions in the 900-metre restricted area around IAF ammunition depot, the municipal corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has decided to start serving notices and carry out demolition drives to raze illegal structures in the area.

The enforcement teams have been told to start a fresh survey to identify the unauthorised buildings in the area.

“The concerned joint commissioners have been instructed to take reports from enforcement teams regarding buildings under construction in their respective areas on an affidavit so that false reports won’t be submitted. All under-construction buildings will be served notices and demolition squads will closely monitor the daily reports,” said additional commissioner Dr Vaishali Sharma.

Sharma visited the 900 metre restricted area recently to take stock of the unauthorised construction. The civic body officials had informed the additional commissioner that the enforcement teams have been closely monitoring the situation on the ground so that unauthorised buildings don’t mushroom in the area.
