GURUGRAM: The municipal corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday sealed five properties of property tax defaulters. Officials said that the action was taken because the property owners have not paid the outstanding property tax worth Rs 31 lakh.

Two of these property owners in Jacobpura have pending dues of Rs 14.17 lakh, one owner in zone-1 of the corporation has dues worth Rs 4.9 lakh, another has dues worth of Rs 5.48 lakh and another property owner is yet to pay outstanding amount of Rs 6.46 lakh.

The officials said that MCG will disconnect water and sewerage connections of the property tax defaulters and seal their properties. Even after sealing if they fail to clear their dues, their properties will be auctioned. The Haryana government has also announced an exemption of 25% on the property tax for the 2021-22 fiscal year if paid by September 30.
