Chennai development body seals unauthorised constructions, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate

CHENNAI: The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has sealed five shops and a workers shed on the New Avadi Road at Kilpauk for unauthorised constructions.

Similarly, shops, an association room, a multi-purpose hall, aa gym and paying guest rooms were locked and sealed in multiple floors of an eight-storey building on the Tambaram-Velachery Main Road at Tambaram over construction violations.

An official press release from the CMDA said that the five shops on the ground floor and workers shed on the terrace were locked and sealed at Kilpauk after the locking and sealing notice and de-occupation notice had not been complied with.

Another press release said the CMDA had initiated action against the building portions that were constructed violating the approved usage in a portion of ground floor, approved office and parking area into a shop area, besides residential units into paying guest rooms in a multi-storey building in Tambaram.
